Team Sleepy Hollow
A New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA)-
sanctioned racing club
As Nordic ski racing grows in popularity in New England,
NENSA -- the sport's governing body -- has sought to structure
racing by establishing a system of clubs. Locally-based clubs,
in which skiers grow from Bill Koch League, to Junior Olympic
Qualifiers, to college, and eventually, the US Ski Team, are
the foundations on which international-caliber skiers are built.
Team Sleepy Hollow is designed to accomplish not only this, but
also encourage local racers continue racing beyond high school
and college. Team Sleepy Hollow is presently composed of the
following three groups:
- Bill Koch Youth Ski League (Ages K-8th Grade)
- High School (CVU athletes and anyone else who's interested,
ages 13-18)
- Citizen Racers (Open to all ages)
Bill Koch Youth Ski League:
We are privileged to be home of the Bill Koch Youth Ski League
for Southern Chittenden County. The Sleepy Hollow BKYSL is an
inclusive program for young skiers. The league practices once
a week on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. Get your kids on snow!
This program is open to all kids K-8th Grade from all neighboring
towns.

CVU High School Ski Team: If
you go to CVU and enjoy the outdoors, join the xc ski team! High
School racers have their state competitions which are independant
from NENSA, however many skiers also compete at the regional
level at NENSA Eastern Cups. These races give high schoolers
the chance to ski with the best from New England, where they
can qualify for J2 championships, or the Junior Olympics.
Citizens Racers: Team Sleepy
Hollow exists to provide support to nordic skiers who are serious
about getting better and/or love to race. Whether you are a novice
looking to learn the skate technique or a long-time racer looking
to fine-tune your training schedule, Team Sleepy Hollow is for
you. Membership will be rather loose; we have no full-time coach,
no uniforms (yet), no mandatory workouts, no board of directors.
Essentially, we are a group of skiers who enjoy training with
others and are working to raise the level of nordic skiing in
Vermont.
